Introduction

We provide professional training and instruction for those with no experience to the advanced shooter. For those who are thinking about purchasing a handgun for home protection or concealed carry, we provide the introduction to firearms and the necessary information for you to make an educated decision about handgun ownership.

What is a CCW and why would I want one?

A CCW is a Concealed Carry permit for the state of California. Sheriffs and Police Chiefs issue CCWs. They are good for two years and the permit is good throughout the state of California. See Ventura county Sheriff’s CCW policy for details.

We will educate you on all aspects of firearms ownership, which will include:

• How to purchase the appropriate firearm for your needs

• How to legally transport and store a firearm

• How to clean and maintain a firearm

• What equipment to purchase (holsters, belts, ammunition, etc.)

• How and where to carry a firearm

• Laws and regulations associated with owning a firearm

We also offer beginning to advanced training for handgun, shotgun, and carbine (AR-15 or equivalent), which include:

• Universal Safety Rules

• The fundamentals of marksmanship

• How to manipulate the firearm

• How to load, unload and conduct a chamber check

• How to clear malfunctions

• How to clean and maintain a firearm

• Proper storage

• Beginning to advanced shooting drills
